It is well known for its lagoon, which is an estuary of the ZInkwazi River, surrounded by coastal dunes. The small, protected beach is one of the many beaches on this stretch of coastline that form part of a nature conservancy.
Bring your picnic and spend some time enjoying this beautiful area. Explore the many rock and tidal pools that are home to a wide variety of sea life. See if you can spot a sea urchin or some of the brightly coloured fish that make their home in the area.
The swimming beach is protected by shark nets as well as life guards (in the holiday season) so you can swim knowing you are safe. The lagoon is a great swim spot for kids and you might just find a weary mom or two taking a breather by floating in the water.
If you feel like getting a bit active why not make use of the ferry boat ride that takes you across the 500 metre lagoon, please be aware that this ride is water level dependant.
