Five bedrooms, three independent and separately rentable units, and a 641 m² freehold erf in Glencairn, beneath a lodge-style log home with sweeping valley views.
This project is truly one from the heart. Every log made its way down from Hermanus Lagoon and was raised into one of the most distinctive homes you will be shown, set in a wild and thriving garden with mountain and valley views that stretch for miles.
Walk through the front door and you are instantly transported to a place of peace and serenity. The line between fast-paced life stops at the threshold. One step inside, with sweeping views over the valley, and you find yourself exactly where you should be.
THE MAIN HOUSE
Two bedrooms and two bathrooms in a warm, open-plan space beneath soaring vaulted reed ceilings and massive exposed beams. Polished timber floors, a freestanding fireplace and tall glass doors that open onto a wraparound deck made for sundowners. The kitchen, with its island and open shelving, is the heart of the home.
THREE INDEPENDENT UNITS
Attached to the main house but fully self-contained, each with its own bedroom and bathroom and able to be let out separately. Ideal for rental income, multi-generational living, guests or a private studio. One has a mezzanine bedroom, another a sunny lounge with a vintage stove and floor-to-ceiling mountain views.
GARDEN AND ECO-FRIENDLY LIVING
A large, explorative garden of indigenous fynbos, with established fruit, vegetable and herb beds and thriving granadillas. Several large JoJo tanks harvest rainwater, and the irrigation is designed around that supply, so the garden thrives with minimal reliance on municipal water.
LOCATION
Glencairn, Simon's Town. Glencairn Beach is about 1.3 km away and Glencairn Shopping Centre about 1.1 km, with Shelly Beach and Fish Hoek Beach a short drive further. Pre-schools and educares are nearby.
