Property Details
Summerley Court is built on the property that was once home to The Palace Hotel, a genteel establishment with a big veranda overlooking large grounds, and, as mentioned in a 1906 advertisement “a well-stocked bar, where only the best cigars and drinks (were) on offer”
The cigars are long banished, and the views from the 6th floor lounge are over all of Cape Town, but there is still a bar where residents gather in the evenings before having their dinner in the beautiful dining room. Coffee and tea are served at meals and at teatime in this area.
Summerley Court offers a unique balance of luxurious and independent senior living, with excellent security and bespoke levels of personal care. Unit 313 is a coveted corner unit, with a gorgeous outlook over the city from one side and shaded by a big tree on the other. The second bedroom has been opened up for use as a dining room, and new carpets are fitted throughout
Included in the standard levies package are 15 meals a month, which can be taken in the dining rooms, or served in the owners’ private apartments. Residents have the option of subscribing to various care packages, with services that include catering of all meals, concierge and reception services, laundry, apartment servicing, in-home care, laundry and more. Most of these services are also available on an ad hoc basis.
Summerley Court takes excellent care of residents’ healthcare needs, including exercise classes, clinic services, emergency care at the touch of an alarm button, in-home nursing care and an outstanding and renowned Frail Care Unit.
A beautiful garden, organised entertainment and outings, a well-stocked library, a big screen television and a balcony with views for days are just some of the features of this special senior living facility. Please contact Amanda and Larry to arrange a viewing. Scroll down to view a video.
