Umhlanga is a town in the eThekwini Municipality of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is located on the coast, about 30 kilometres north of Durban. The name means "place of reeds" in isiZulu. Umhlanga is a popular tourist destination, known for its beaches, hotels and resorts. The town is also home to the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the largest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere.
