The largest river on South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, the Mzimkhulu River, empties into the ocean near Port Shepstone, a sizable town. It is 120 kilometers south of Durban and situated midway between Hibberdene and Margate. It serves as the commercial, educational, and administrative hub for southern Natal.
