Odendaalsrus is a small town in the Free State province of South Africa. The town is situated on the Vaal River, approximately halfway between Johannesburg and Bloemfontein. The town was established in 1848 and was originally known as Andriesburg, after the Voortrekker leader Andries Pretorius. The town's name was changed to Odendaalsrus in 1966. The town is home to a number of historical buildings and monuments, including the Andries Pretorius Museum, the Voortrekker Monument, and the Odendaalsrus Town Hall. The town is also a popular destination for fishing, hiking, and birdwatching.
