South-east of Johannesburg in the Gauteng Province of South Africa lies a little gold mining town called Nigel. The village is located on the southernmost reaches of the East Rand. The municipal structure of Nigel was incorporated into the considerably bigger City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
